If Labour were still in power we'd probably be buying hot pasties with wheelbarrows full of hyperinflated currency by now.

It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

on tv pamela connolly, said where she buys her panini she buys it cold, when money excanged heat it up, good idea :)
  • As previously said, these old Etonians have no idea what a pasty is. They would rather we discussed pasties than their private dinners with wealthy interest groups and individuals who pay them to shape policy for their personal benefit.

Why on earth do working class people vote for these millionaire toffs?

Yup, there should be a party that guarantees to remove all taxes from whippets and whippet keeping necessities.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Will this also apply to bread which is made in store and is still warm when you put it in the trolley?

    OK, define "fresh".
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I must admit I don't really understand the argument against this. Why shouldn't greggs pay VAT? Why should a takeaway selling fried chicken have to pay VAT but tesco don't when they sell fried chicken from their hot food stand?

It seems ridiculous that these loopholes exist and I think they should be closed. Obviously it'll be annoying paying VAT on greggs but as if I have to pay it at McDonald's I accept I should pay it at greggs.

It's not even down to the political parties as labour can pose in front of as many greggs as they like but they'll never repeal it when they get back in. It's currently just cheap political point scoring!
