Just a couple of questions for those that have already started.

On first day of training I know it says non metal safety shoes. But what about trousers? Do they have to be work trousers or can they be jogging type bottoms. If they have to be work trousers do they also have to be non metal zips etc.

Also I looked at the link Manpower sent for work shoes. Does this include trainer type or do they have to be shoes/boots ?

Just wear jogging bottoms with covered zips to be sure,
Trainer ones are okay, they should have sent you an email with an attachment showing the okay and not okay.

    Nights are 9 hours long. It's 9-6 with 2 11 minute breaks and a 15 minute.

    Hi Everyone
I was wondering if anyone on here could explain what is going on at the moment regarding the pay structure. I understand you start on 70% etc as you are always behind the long timers.
I have been told this could be changing soon and is currently being discussed.
Does anyone know what is going on and if or when this could take place.

    Thanks

As I understand it the union are asking for 100% as part of the pay deal.

Whether or not it happens, who knows.

If it does I would assume that it would be an incremental progression along the lines of what happens now to get to 95%.

    ie,

    70% Manpower
    80% JLR STC
    90% first Year FTC
    92.5% second year FTC
95% third year FTC (this is where it stops at the moment)
    97.5% fourth year FTC
    100% fifth year FTC.

    or something along those lines.

Of course this is all pure speculation. ;)

So you don't think it will have any effect on new starters for example? They will still be on 70% to start ?

I have the pre employment session this week. I was hoping for some information on what to expect. What is the one to one with occupational health? Etc
Also I see it says casual clothes. Are jeans ok for this part of process?

    Thanks all
