Hi guys just got a phone call yesterday telling me I have passed my online assessment for Halewood. My manual assessment is a next week, do Halewood and the other plants have different assessments? Is anybody else looking at joining Halewood for this intake?

    Hello Lefty,

were you recommended by an employee at Jaquar already? Also have you ever worked at Jaq before I have my assessment next week too.

    Hi mate

No never worked there before, and all my experience is in hospitality. Hopefully this won't hold my back too much. My uncle who's worked there for a long time gave me a refferal code but I had already received the phone call telling me I'd passed the first part (online test).

Don't know how much a refferal will help as it says on the refferal letter that all vacancies are filled based on merit alone. What about you, any experience in this industry?

Yes I worked there for 50 weeks then got laid off. Your right about merit your back ground doesn't count, I was a chef!! If the assessment was the same as last time basically its placing magents in and out of a car in sequence and fitting a clutch together. Ihad no experience but listened to what they said, but take your time!! It's easy to rush and go into panic mode that's natural but you soon realise it's not required. What day are you going in?

    Cheers for the advice mate.

The same thing happened to my mate, he got laid off then brought back in 2 months later. I think the only reason he got laid off was because he had a sick day after a party we went to. I hope its the same assessment, a few people have told me thats its straight forward enough. I'm in Speke Wednesday 9am you?

I had a root canal and had 2 days off...is he back on full time? I'm in on Thursday.
  • Yeah think he's not far off a jaguar contract. What are the main work days/shift patterns? I'm not bothered about long hours or anything but it would be nice to have the occasional weekend off having worked them my entire working life and missing out on a lot of nights out!

Friday, saturdays and sundays I know what you mean!! I worked them for years haha. Depending on where you are at it's generally early, lates and nights. 06.00-14.30, 14.30-22.30 and 22.30 - 06.00

Standard throughout unless your perm days and then it's 7.30-4.30?

    Ah I see!

Coming to the end of my first week on track ! Luckily I've worked for other car makers on a prod line so i knew what to expect! A few have already dropped out from what I've heard ! It's a hard job for a while if you've never done it !!

Not sure when the next intake is, the Pera training guys aren't around for another 2 weeks so take from that what you will.
