Had my assessment on Tuesday at Castlevale, had an email saying I had passed the assessment and that they would be reviewing all applicants and will be in touch to confirm if I have been successful for the next stage. What does this mean, anyone had the same? I have passed the assessment but might not go to the next stage??
  • Hi all,
Great thread but hoping someone can give me some advice,
I haven't worked for nearly 4 years due to a horrible eye problem, after 3 operations on my eye (had it completely removed in the end) I am now in the position to go back to work.
Ok, so it seems I have passed the initial online assessment and have now been invited to the castle vale skills site for manual assessment, after reading through the messages on here I am slightly worried, I have read you have to put clutches together or assemble a brake part etc...
I've never done anything like this (car parts) before, is anyone else here new to this type of assembly? I'm probably worrying over nothing but I want to be prepared when I attend next week

Thanks all and well done / good luck to everyone else applying :)

I've done both types of assessments now, the solihull/castle brom involves building a clutch pedal assy. And then placing some magnets in a certain order in a shell of a car, quite simple stuff as long as you've played with lego or similar as a child you'll be fine.

I've had the same, and got through to interview stage both times. I think they compare everyones manual assessment scores. You get scored on speed, quality, following instructions and ability to use both hands on a task.

Hi, I had the same email, then got a call and further email inviting me for interview, so hand on in there. ;)

Mate you will be absolutely fine, all you have t9 do is play with some simply tools and I believe you can do this as every man can :) well even my misses got successful on manual then interview and finally she got job offer today :) BTW it is break pedal not clutch and is really simply, just follow demo show and on paper instructions ;) good luck!
