Orange Contract Phone and HTC Desire HD Mobile
Can any help where I stand.
I have a fault with my HTC Desire HD which is under contract (24 months) which ends November 2012 with orange.
The fault is the mobile looses network, does not recognise sim card and shuts down, this happens roughly about 5 times a day. I've had a new sim card (Dec) still does it same fault.
I went back to orange they said it wasnt there problem I would have to go directly to HTC.
So twice its been to HTC to be repaired it comes back after 4 days but a day or so later the fault reoccurs. They are comining to pick it up again for a third time.....I've had to buy a cheap phone incase I breakdown in my car for emergencies (orange would not help here). This has been on going since Dec last year. I want a replacement but HTC won't replace only repair.
So have an expensive mobile paying £36 amonth that I can't use.
Please HELP!

i think after a certain time it is the manufacturer you have to deal with not the networkWhat goes around-comes around0

The only other way you have is to sue Orange, but I think after just three repairs your chances of winning are slim.

So basically what you are telling me is tough, move on!
I must just say HTC are not repairing it just wiping it and putting the soaftware on it again because the fault is still there. My husband has the same phone we got 2 at the same time under one contract. His is fine and he has loads of apps. I have 3 apps on my phone and they are the same as his.
I want to stop the contract can I do this becasue of the phone, I did think about getting another network provider to buy me out of this contract and get another mobile. I could sell this phone to second hand goods shop because the phone has an intermittent fault, like other unscrupulous people min this world!
OR I could send it back to HTC every week, their cost picking it up and delivering it with couriers for the rest of the year.
I find ORANGE staff rude unhelpful and I have complained about there appalling service.0 -
you cant end your contract because of the phone the two thinga are seperate
try p4u to by out your contract if you want to do thatWhat goes around-comes around0 -
Pretty unlikely that P4U or any 'network provider' will pay 8x£36 for the privilege.0

i didnt say it wouldbe at that price however they do buy out contractsWhat goes around-comes around0

I've had a very interesting conversation with a man at Trading Standards. 'Supply of Goods and Service act 1982'. Its seems the goods are no fit for purpose so under the contract I have with orange they have breached the contract by not rectifying the problem with the mobile and fobbing me off to HTC. According to trading standards I am within my rights to pursue orange for a replacement phone which is what I want the same mobile. They have 14 days to sort or Trading Standards will pursue.......Watch this space!0

my Desire HD died at 4 months old. HTC lost it twice and I eventually got it back as unrepairable so I stood firm and 3 wiped the contract. However mine was under very extreme circumstances so dont expect that Orange will help in the same way shape or form but I'm told my phone was 'riddled with manufacturing faults' if that helps...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
