Sold a phone for £29 on Ebay and got this mail earlier. Help.

            I've had someone try this, I messaged back that once I'd received the phone and checked the IMEI against the one in my records I'd refund (they'd purchased about 4 of the same phone from different sellers which rang alarm bells). Never heard anything else from them. Not to say your buyer is a scammer, but it does no harm to show you're clued up when you're offering a refund.0

            I replied with this >>Really sorry you have had issues with the mobile. I had listened to some music whilst deleting ring tones and didnt hear a problem. The headphones had never been used. However I will accept a return of the phone and accessories for full refund of the item on receipt. I'll take it to be tested before relisting. Many thanks.

I don't mind too much about butting some cash towards the repairs if u can even refund half of the cost £12 I will be happy . It's not the music speaker it's the one u use to here people on the other end0

 How many speakers does this wonderful phone have then? Sorry but it seems like a refund fiddler to me.  Asking for £12 is still cheeky, as it will cost less than that to send it back. How much was the postage? It's clearly a scam!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

            This buyer's messages suggest to me it's a simple scam that is used regularly. If it were me, I think I'd agree to refund the buyer's original payrment upon return (as already offered) and then visit the issue of full reimbursement of return postage once the phone has been examined.
 In other words, when the phone is found to be fine, the buyer gets nothing and is out of pocket to the tune of their return postage fees.
 They won't accept this - they're just trying to extract a big discount by claiming a working phone is faulty."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

            Before I was able to reply he did an e/bay return request (item not as described) so maybe not a scam, I honestly did not think there would be any issues as the last time I used it it was fine, I kept it as a backup phone incase I lost my current one, the family have all switched providers hence selling it. (gave my other to my nephew who got it unlocked)
 Thank you all for your advice, I just hope it doesnt affect my feedback as I just plod along selling stuff that is of no use to me anymore and have excellent feedback and with regards to communication, p&p etc...
 I have advised in my mail to him that I have regular appts at the hospital and am not always in when the post is delivered so may have to collect from the collection dept which has opening timings which conflict with my appts.....0
