Hello, exhaust snapped right at the front.

Any rough idea of what Kwik Fit will charge for a full standard system?

Any advantage going to a backstreet garage?

Citroen Saxo 1.1 02 Reg 3 door

Actually middle and rear sections only appear to have surface rust.

About £100 for the exhaust and £350 for the other work they find/make up.

Yes, the £350 is always the worry with them.

Are ATS any different in this regard?

Use a good local garage if you can. If not its exhaust only.

    That's a good price.

Front pipe has the cat, that's about £80 on it's own at online automotive.

    Full system is £200.

    Without fitting.

It looks like it is the cat pipe that has gone!

Unless the rest of the system is shot, I'd just get that, and expect to pay up to about £150 fitted. £120 to £130 would be a bargain.
    Over £150 would be dear.

    Piece of string question.

I'd have a go at it myself.

How hard to undo the bolts?

There is some surface rust on the rest of system which appears to run in a straight line.

    Should be easy, but........................

I changed mine recently (different car) bolts at the front where easy, the joint from the front to middle was a complete pig.
Yours should be bolts at either end, so should be straighforward, even if you have to cut them through.
Normally they're just shear if you can't actually unfasten them though.
  • I had a full exhaust minus the cat fitted to my 206 just under 2 years ago at an indie garage for £135 all in.

My sister had one fitted to a Punto last month at the same garage for around the same price.

To add to this thread I've got the cat off. Come off easily, no nuts or bolts knackered.

Just hope that the new piece off the internet will fit. It is 'approved' whatever that means. Mind you, £68 seems a bit cheap but we'll see.

Kwik fit want £235 for this job

    National £160

Local independent £45 for fitting part supplied by me.

People tell me that the cat could be worth a couple of quid down the scrappies. Is that right?
