Santander have just sent me a cheque for 1p when I closed my current account with them - I won't be making a special trip to the bank to cash it!
I aslo had a balance of 1p in an ING savings account - the only way they could close it is for me to give them my bank details to transfer the 1p or for them to give it to charity.Learn to speak Norfolk:
