I had a Tesco savings account and decided to close it as I never use it and I can't sign on online because I have a new computer, it does not recognise my new computer so I couldn't see if I had a balance.
So I posted a letter asking to close it and send me any outstanding balance.
Today I got a cheque for 1p.

It will be a computer generated cheque, nobody actually sees the amount on the cheques going out.
It will have gone into an envelope automatically and dropped into a box automatically, but still, i see what you mean.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

It may have cost a lot more than that to be processed and sent out but by sending it now at least Tesco have saved on the postage increase we heard about today,

I think the lowest amount i received by cheque once was £0.03. I might've had 1p also, but can't quite remember.
There was no way i was paying it in to a cashier person at the bank, so the next time i had some notes to pay in, i paid it in at one of the self-serve machines to avoid the embarrassment :rotfl:0 -
Always remember my Aunts house as she had a check for a few pennies she had received as her share of a competition prize. She had it framed and put in the toilet with the words "break glass in case of financial emergency"0

My lowest cheque was for 2p when o2 money closed. Must have cost Natwest more to clear it when I paid it into my account.0
