    hmmmm. thanks for your comments

the problem is i'm in a rented place and don't have a ladder to reach up to the window to cover it.

putting a mirror below it i think i'd still hear the noise just as much, but again can't get to it.

there are 2 windows on top of each other. one doesn't open. the other one opens partly. it's the top one that doesn't open that is being attacked. I can't get to the outside of the window from inside my room either

he doesn't get put off when i have the window open, when i'm by the window he doesn't get scared off either...

i've heard from forums that putting falcon cut out in the window doesn't have any effect :(

My cats are at my brothers house, not allowed them in this house. A nice thought but I don't think my LL would let me move my cats in coz of this situation LOL.

Also he doesn't generally stand on the windowsill to peck. He sometimes sits on a cable nearby and pecks. But mostly he flies, flapping his wings and darting into the window or hovering and pecking at it... for hours and hours, i don't know where he gets the energy from

do you think there is anyway i can put something on the inside of the window instead of outside? i don't think it'd work, because the outside pane would still get his reflection unless covered hmm.

any idea how long til the baby birds have been born and he may stop?

When something similar happened at a hotel in London (I think) it turned out that the bird had earlier somehow got into the room via an open window, made a nest under the bed and laid eggs in it. So it wanted to check on it's babies.

Don't suppose there's any possibility this could've happened at your house?

can you hang something out the window that opens partly that would flap around?

Zaksmum might be onto something - I had a bat that used to fly into my open window every night, flap around and smack me in the face, and I was told to check the bedroom for any baby bats. Eventually worked out it was just because the bat was disorientated and thought the bedroom was just an extension of outside. I have to say being woken up in the middle of the night by a bat wing smacking you in the face is a bit more scary! It was too hot in the middle of the night to sleep with the windows shut. It was like being in Harry Potter.

Indeed. Those were my thoughts at 6am this morning as I threw open my bedroom window and climbed in....

Go to bed 1 hour earlier?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

lol i'm not going to be dictated to by a bird when my bedtime is

i'm a drummer (hence username) and i've been putting on my ear defenders for the last hour of sleep every morning and can still hear that damn bird lol.

yeah i get in around 6 am some mornings but not gettin up then!! :D

i haven't had my window open before it started as was too cold, so the bird's def not been in my house.

hmm i'll try find something to hang out the window that opens. although the bird isn't scared when i'm standing and moving near the window... doing my bird scaring off dance lol. but i will give it a try and report back tomorrow
