I've just rejoined the panel again and found that that the number of items that I send and receive has about doubled.

I think that the increase in the items received makes it much more obvious to the postmen who is taking part in this survey.

This morning I had 4 test letters, all containing SMARTS. Although the SMARTS are less obvious than they were several years ago, when the postman puts 4 letters through the letter box, all with SMARTS in, they must guess.

    What do others think ?

I agree, especially with all these packets we are now getting, I dont think these are normal type post and think they stand out, as do the massive packs with the following weeks post in, which is sometimes split into two lots there is so much. If my son were not at home most of the time I would never be away from the post sorting office to collect stuff as my letter box is small and most of this would not fit through. My post when I am not on the survey is very low volume, but now its probably 3 or 4 x more. I bet my postie will be glad when my period ends.

I will still continue to do the posting parcels, correctly addressed though as they are much less time consuming and I have just been invited to start my first unaddressed survey.

Although you will still be able to do correctly addressed surveys, they take you off the parcel survey when you are resting.

I have just done my first week of "retraining" and wait to see if I shall be back on the parcel survey once I'm trained again!

I have opened my pack for the week after next and found I have 7 items to post. Surely this can't keep going up.

I too have found that since returning after being rested the volumes have certainly increased ...previously I would post maybe upto 5 items a week but now its more like 5 items minimum per week ....next week I have 7 to post and what i am finding flustrating is that in the last 5 weeks ive had to go to the sorting office 3 times to pick up the posting because its been too big to fit through my letterbox!

Just on a seperate note though....can I remind all the panelists who post here that it is an open forum read by all including possible postal workers ....so its probably not advisable to list the names of companies who you receive test mail from or the names of potential publications you get as part of the panel...its best to try to keep it all as anonomus as we can!

  • Hi all. I have just received my welcome pack and have my first two items to post next week. One of them needs to be posted in the post box and the second one at the post office. Can you please help with the post office item: can I pop it into the post box at the post office or do I need to take it to the window and hand it in?

You can post it from the postbox outside the post office.
  • thanks sam.4000. can I pop the "post box" item into any post box in the area or will it have to be the same post box every time? can I take it to the post office?

Yes any with postbox can be posted in any within you postcode area. You can only register 10 different post boxes and they can never be changed. I don't post items from the box outside the postoffice if it says post box as I think the idea is that you use different post boxes. I only have 2 registered the one outside the post office and a post box that is nearish to me.

    i've had
    Scottish Farmers Weekly (in midlands)
    Pigeons fancier
    Top Gear
    Antiques
    Doctors Magazine
    Nursing times

I'm getting a Jewish newspaper at the moment :rotfl: I'd quite like the Dr mag and nursing times to pass on to family who work in the NHS
