We do our own using our Epson printer. Never been refused - and lots of chances to get a good one - as good as you can look on a passport photo anyway, LOL.
  • Likewise, we do our own at home. No problems.

I registered some time ago with the Government Gateway and so I now through this have an ID number and password and access to a whole host of government online facilities.

    eg,

I've just renewed my Driving Licence online through the GG, merely because the DVLA reminded me that the photo on it was out of date at the end of this month.

Since my Passport was less than 5 years old, I was able to input my Passport details and the DVLA have utilised the Passport photo for the Driving Licence.

Out of interest, the Passport photo is in colour but the driving licence came with the same photo but done in black and white.

Most post offices do them now too.

And Boots digital photo machines will print out mutiple shots on one sheet, of a photo you do yourself. Just make sure your head and shoulders fill the frame and check they will be the right size when printed.
Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?
