Very few things are ever a "complete and utter waste of time", and as someone said "its not over until the fat lady sings".
So please sign the e-petition at

thanks.

Now a little closer to the five year mark for estimated time to reach 100,000 signatures.
Getting to the point where count updates to raise the profile of the topic are just spamming the message board, to the detriment of things of greater interest.
I agree, just going to click spam on the last 6 of the almost identical posts.Forum users mustn't post the same forum post more than once on the forum (the only exception is members of the MSE Team; when needed). It's called spamming and most internet forums forbid it. Where spam is reported to the Forum Team posts are deleted and the user's Posting Privileges may be removed. Please don't quote any post that you believe is spam, as this causes the team more work0 -
Now up to 5.9 years to get to 100,000. Though it'll probably never get there because the rate of signing continues to decrease.0

Sadly I have to agree, still to achieve almost three quarters of the required number in six months is still pretty good considering the subject is really aimed at a minority audience, most of whom probably have never even heard of an e-petition.0 -
Wow; your only post in this thread since your original one on 11th April @ post 130, and you want to be the post police. Well done.
Thanks, all the repeat postings on here just updating a number but still quoting the post with the link on are no better than spam ones "selling CCvs/passports" etc.0 -
The e-petition 'Restoration of Age Related Tax Allowances' signed by you recently reached 69,837 signatures and a response has been made to it.
As this e-petition has received more than 10 000 signatures, the relevant Government department have provided the following response: At Budget 2012 the Government announced a phased withdrawal of Age-Related Allowances with no new recipients from April 2013. For existing recipients, allowances will be frozen at their 2012-13 levels until the Personal Allowance aligns with them. The Government accepts that many people will be disappointed by these decisions. However, no one will pay any more tax as a result of these changes. Indeed, those affected by the withdrawal of Age-Related Allowances also benefit from the largest ever cash increase in the Personal Allowance. The Government remains committed that personal allowances should be set high enough to ensure that those solely reliant on the Basic State Pension do not pay any tax. The Government has also continued to support pensioners in other ways. In April 2012 the Basic State Pension increased by £5.30, the biggest cash increase ever, and we have introduced a triple guarantee ensuring it will increase each and every year by the highest of earnings, prices or 2.5 per cent. Pensioners will also continue to be exempt from National Insurance Contributions of 12% on employment income. Furthermore, we have protected the support that makes a real difference to the lives of millions of pensioners every day, including free prescriptions, free eye tests, free bus passes and Winter Fuel Payments, and, for older pensioners, free TV licences. This e-petition remains open to signatures and will be considered for debate by the Backbench Business Committee should it pass the 100 000 signature threshold."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0 -

Typical civil service jargon! Of course pensioners will pay more pension if their pension income goes up. They want all workers to have a private pension but are not giving any incentive. I paid NIC for 39 years and shouldn't have to pay anymore!!"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
