You stated that you would be staying in a hellhole, and would miss out on what Paris had to offer.
Wrong on both counts.
Basic accomodation and the freedom to see what you want;)0 -

I never actually, I stated that I would rather not bother visiting Paris on such a tight budget that it would involve staying in a hell hole and not be able to see what the city had to offer.
Assuming the ops budget is £200 to include travel, accomodation, admission fees to the attractions and food/drink then personally I would rather not visit.
Now, unless you have some unknown power to get into my head (many have tried) and tell me what my own opinion is then I don't see how I am wrong.0 -
Getting there can be cheap as chips by ferry, we managed to gets ours with our car for about £30 ret! Staying there I imagine will be the hardest as accomodation costs a bomb.
Try booking.com or any other cheap hotel sites they usually have good deals.
Good luck with your holiday! We’re separate, two ghosts in one mirror, no nearer

Georgia, is it still worth it for 2 people on a car? ( I mean adding cost of petrol+car park)
I'd love to go back but I think flying or Eurostar are the cheapest options at the moment...
(my first trip was free with Eurostar and Airmiles, but I think it will take me around 5 years to get enough avios to do it again!!)0 -
That's a good point! You can still go by ferry as a foot pasenger I think not sure how many route selections you have though..And then catch a bus or train!?
Eurostar is great I went to Disney and took me right in there! Amazing service I must say.
I think the biggest spending aprt would probably be accomodation, if you find cheap accomodation then you can think of how to get there and how much money you can spend on the extras! We’re separate, two ghosts in one mirror, no nearer

Sure, to begin with I got 2 free tickets to Eurodisney from Sky, tickets are confirmed immediately and so I booked it all on the same day as the sky deal came out since I anticipated an influx of Brits to head to France and therefore prices to rise.
Flights are Manchester - Paris Beauvais - Manchester with Ryanair = £68 (all in)
Then 1 night at 'Sejours et Affaires Serris Rive Gauche' which is about 10 mins walk from Disneyland and costs £40 for one night.
The 2 nights at Etap Porte de Bagnolet which is nearer to the centre of Paris and cost £32 per night.
Then Jetparks at MAN for £14.99
Total = £186.99
Afraid you have miscalculated your price - flying into Paris Beauvais means you are 80km away from the city and will have to pay to transfer (and hour and a quarter journey), it's 15 euros per person single, and that only takes you to the outskirts of the city, you'll still need to then get out to Disneyland so an additional cost there as well! You need to add at least another £60 onto your total.0 -
I agree with above, you need a bus from Beauvais although I think Ryanair do a shuttle but its an additional cost. Also, the metro tickets are not as cheap as you might think, especially if you are using all the zones for say 2/3 days don't forget Disney is quite a distance from central Paris. Best bet might be to fly to Charles de Gaulle and get the bus from their and stay at an hotel in the resort or nearby which is on offer and maybe go into Paris on the train some day ....it really is not cheap! £200 is not a big budget I would estimate that per person to be honest at the very least but if you do find something cheaper snap it up quick!0

Ive been and come back, but you are absolutely right.
Once at the airport I was direct out to the shuttle and had to pay 15 Euros each despite the fact my kids were aged 7 and 4 there was no child price.
It's an absolute rip off by all accounts and the bus is in a poor state of repair. To make matters worse when the bus filled up I was asked by the driver to put my 4 year old on my knee, I said I would if he refunded me the 15 Euro I had paid for his seat and he refused! Making someone else have to find alternate means of travel.
The bus took about an hour and a bit and left us at the far end of Paris and really !!!!ed me off.
Travel throughout Paris was cheap, I just bought a Carnet and didnt pay for either of the kids and never once got asked.
On the return I took the train from Gare du Nord to Beauvais (total 13 Euro) and then the bus from the station to the airport (4 Euro)
I strongly advise anyone travelling with children to take this route rather than the shuttle since it is nothing other than a blatant scam run by the airport.
In future I would certainly consider paying more to fly to the much more accessible CDG and not the horrible little porta-cabin that is Beauvais.0 -
HI does anyone know if I purchase a 1-5 zone ticket will this cover the travel from Charles De Gaule airport metro station to the center of Paris. I read somewhere that the zone tickets don't cover the Airport.0
