Paris - can you do it on a budget?

I'm going to Paris next week, one adult and two kids. Return flights, parking at airport and 3 nights hotels have come in at about £180. But having been to Paris before the costs once there can be huge, it's not the best city to go to in an attempt to be frugal.
If you are looking for a cheap, romantic and actually quite beautiful city head to Krakow where costs to get there, stay there and be there will probably all fall into your £200 bracket for a couple of nights.
I've been twice recently and recommend aparthotel pergamin.
£180 is cheap ! would you mind telling me where you got this deal and where is the hotel ?
Thanks !Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Personally I wouldn't want to do it on such a tight budget you are staying in a hell hole and missing out on what Paris has to offer.0

Could you convert Tesco vouchers to pay for the eurotunnel?

WRONG!!!!
Just did a search on Formula 1 hotels (very basic but clean) and they are £30 per room (not each person) per night. If you can get there, then you can use the Metro as I already posted (which is cheap and quick) to get into the centre of Paris.0 -

Sure, to begin with I got 2 free tickets to Eurodisney from Sky, tickets are confirmed immediately and so I booked it all on the same day as the sky deal came out since I anticipated an influx of Brits to head to France and therefore prices to rise.
Flights are Manchester - Paris Beauvais - Manchester with Ryanair = £68 (all in)
Then 1 night at 'Sejours et Affaires Serris Rive Gauche' which is about 10 mins walk from Disneyland and costs £40 for one night.
The 2 nights at Etap Porte de Bagnolet which is nearer to the centre of Paris and cost £32 per night.
Then Jetparks at MAN for £14.99
Total = £186.99

You will have to economise the trip to Paris. For a chic hostel have a look at Ooops Hostel.0

If you stay in a cheap hotel (like F1, Ibis, etc) in the outskirts, if's perfectly possible. Tube is not expensive, and lots of things to see just on the outside (if you can't afford paying for museums, etc).
Eating out can be quite cheap to if you go to the latin quarter and drink just tap water!!0 -

What exactly am I wrong about? I stated I wouldn't want to do it on such a low budget that I couldn't enjoy the experience and that still stands. I'm willing to take a lie detector test on that one!
The room prices, like you say start at £30, but during September (when the op wants to travel) that price is only available for 1 night in each of their hotels. Sure the other nights are not much more expensive, but even an extra £10 per night swallows up another 10% of the total budget, that's before you consider the additional expense of travelling to and from the hotel/attractions and food/drink costs.
There are better places to go on a tight budget than Paris.0
