While your friend is waiting for her tax credits to be sorted out she may want to try for a Community Care Grant. See here:

    To answer the OP.

    1. Introduce her to www.freegle.org.uk and www.freecycle.com ; you might also collect on her behalf?

    2. Check here http://www.frn.org.uk/ and locate your nearest Furniture recycler. Most of them will provide furniture and household goods free or at minimum cost to people who are supported by their social worker.

Ask her social worker or Women's Aid for advice on resettlement support.

She should be getting CSA (15% of his income) from the ex.
Not from Thailand, I had the same problem.

There is no way to enforce child payments from Thailand at all.

it needs clarifying, but my reading of the first post was that the 'soon to be -ex' is actually in the UK.

So when she divorces, she demand 70 percent of the assets of the marriage. She needs to make a list of everything in the house she left and everything that she has to buy to replace it. Including the house if it is mortgaged or owned.
