Imagine my suprise when i tried one of the price comparison websites and it came back with eon being able too cut my bill by 374 pounds a year over the warehouse is this possible?

When i quizzed my sisters boyfriend he said you need to be very carefull as firms quote different rates kwhp for different parts of the quartly bill and utility warehouse is just a flat 11.053 per kwh?

I find the way companies use differing ways to charge for there services a mine field

And are the comparison websites really accurate in there estimations of potential savings.
Thanks for reading my first reply and happy new year!:money:

Sorry if my reply only goes part way to you answer first an earlier reply
I'm afraid it's not a straight forward answer, for the majority of people it will be much cheaper NOT having their energy bills with UW, however there are always exceptions to every rule.

Essentially if you spend a LOT of money on the card each year and make lots of international and 0870 type calls it can be worth while.
Now for your "in-law", I suppose technically he is right some companies do structure their bills in odd ways, NPower being one of them. Yet at the end of the year you will still have paid for what you have used, regardless if there are standing charges, sculpted rates etc, etc, etc.

If you want to find out the cheapest option I'm afraid you have a bit of work to do, UW have the most complicated billing structure to compare. Remember though, your "in-law" gets a percentage of everything you spend so he may or may not be influenced by this. I don't know him, you hopefully do.

Start by finding out your actual consumption on gas and electricity in kwh. That is the only accurate way to find out how much you can save via a comparison site.

Once you have done that, is the difference enough to compensate for losing all those free international and 0870 numbers you call. There was a woman on here a few days ago and she went as far as getting out call usage for the past year to work it out.

Unfortunately the people that should be able to help you the most, the UW salespeople who visit, aren't too keen on giving this kind of help, at least they haven't done so from my experience. Still I'll try and help and I'm sure a couple of otehrs would as well.

Remember you don't need to keep the gas and electricity with them to benefit from the cashback card (if you use one). You would lose the free call part, which os why I suggested working out how much you might save first.

    Another happy customer :-) :-)

Well he should be, he will be saving £374 a year by leaving UW and as a bonus has found out a little more about the charachter of his sister's boyfriend!

Do you not feel happy for him?

Not that you are interested in electricity prices, you only Googled UW to find out about -err - telephony. You should get together with Keggs!

    P.S.
The implication of the :-) :-) being?? - as if we were not aware;)

Don't you think it great that he can save £374 a year by leaving UW?

Any thoughts on the actions of his sister's boyfriend? Wouldn't you be ashamed to act in that manner?

Anyway it is great that the(declared) UW salesmen are avoiding this forum and we can answer genuine questions about UW without the obfuscation we used to experience.

I have to say I am incredibly disappointed to see that none of them have offered assistance to people seeking help.

Strange you have come back as Keggs as only the other day you said

" haven't gone too far away but I won't get involved in an UW discussion again. Period."
