You keep banging on about how great it is and how it cant be beaten, have you signed up yet?
Thank you. But I'm confused - if you don't care what someone else is paying, why all the negativity from you on here based on price?Call me Carmine....

)
£100 cheaper than websaver? Are you sure? Let's have some figures, I'm amazed at that, PC.Call me Carmine....

Simple really, UW's "Guarentee" says it will be cheaper than standard tariffs, I simply asked what tariffs they class as standard?
As far as I'm aware all the companies only have one standard tariff (unless you count standing charge and non-standing charge tariffs) yet Vinny's statement suggests otherwise, saying they comapre the cheapest standard tariffs not the most expensive, maybe you could shed some light carmine seeing as there doesnt seem to be any sense coming from the UW guys?
Looking at gas and electric alone (because that is all I am interested in) UW can not even be competitive yet alone cheaper but they continue to post such drivel as the guarentee then just resort to acting like children when asked serious questions about their products.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I genuinely don't know, Chris. I'm not a distributor and therefore haven't got the relevant paperwork. Like I've said before on here, same with all the energy companies, it's all marketing speak. They all claim to save you money on their home pages. Against what? Washes over me. I mean, is Carlsberg probably the best lager in the world?
Bottom line is what I will be paying when all is said and done. All I can say is that UW could quote me as saying their deal is easily the best deal for me. Financially. No idea what the CS is like so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.Call me Carmine....

I dont actually carry a list around with me of everyone I come into contact with gas and electric usage sorry!
I'm just going on what they told me (I dont see any reason for them to have been lieing to me) next time I see them I will ask.
I did question it myself and they did say they put usage into the comparison and not DD amountsMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I was being a little naughty, I suppose, just demonstrating that it's not always possible to answer every question asked of one.
BTW, knowing the switching sites like I do, there's no way on earth anybody would be paying £100 less on SOL14 than websaver, no matter usage or region. I think they must have been confused, after all that's the state of mind the Big 6 wish to induce. I will, of course, apologise profusely (and publicly) if proven wrong:eek:

Yes
"despite the fact that The Utility Warehouse's direct debit dual fuel is around £100 more expensive than the cheapest big six supplier in each region" according to this article.

It is a reader's survey - not a report! It is obvious that many of the reviews are from the massed ranks of 25,000 UW representatives, their family and friends, all with a very real vested interest in promoting UW.
Anyone who gives UW high marks for price is suspect as quite simply UW are expensive.
It is similar to the farce that the highly respected Which magazine have apparently not appreciated. A reader survey where UW are massively over represented in proportion to the number of customers, giving UW the highest marks for price - when they are very clearly amongst the most expensive.
Any survey that allows vested interests to vote is discredited.
Some years ago the BBC ran 'Man of the Year' competitions. At the height of his unpopularity Arthur Scargill the miner's leader was voted man of the Year because all the Miner's lodges ran a campaign to get him elected.
25,000 UW distributors and their families have a vested interest in seeing UW perform well so, like yourself, they can boast about this meaningless vote - like the Which survey.
You did notice that the Times did point out how much more expensive UW was - yet it came out well on price - a farce.0
