Up to 6k will not affect means tested benefits. Over 6k and up to 16k will start to affect benefits in a tapering, sliding scale. Over 16k rules them out.0

In addition.
Separate from the savings limits, there are income limits.
If he was to set up a direct debit to pay at 300/month - this may well be income, and affect your benefit.
If he was simply to randomly give you amounts of money, that do not approach the capital limit, this does not.0 -
Friends and family should be the first to help, not the government
You're wrong. The welfare system should be there to help ensure that people's random illnesses or disabilities should not push their friends and families in to financial hardship too. This social insurance allows for greater economic stability, for people to allocate resources more effectively, and incentivises economic productivity by reducing the risk that gains made here will be reallocated according to random chance.
It's entirely reasonable for the OP's father to not want to make a personal sacrifice in his own finances which will not benefit his daughter, just as it is reasonable for others to choose not to make donations to the exchequer.0 -
Hi there,
It also depends on whether you are on contribution based ESA or income based. If you are on contribution based then your savings are not taken into account. If you are on income based then anything oer £6,000 is classed as income and money will be taken off the amount of ESA paid to you per pound over £6,000.0 -

As for me claiming for 13 years, it has nothing to do with you and my circumstances are PERSONAL not to be trivialised by such as yourself. As for fiddling , let me tell you this , I have NEVER claimed anything to which I am not fully entitled to ,and through working hard in the NHS dealing with morons like you most of the time, I earned my living and paid my dues.
Your remarks are offensive and I suggest if you have enough time to look into other peoples history on this site you must have a boring existance. I can suggest the name of a good therapist by the way if you want as you seem to need some social skills .
YOUR posts have told people how long you have been claiming.
Here's a novel idea, take the money your pa is offering you, stop claiming benefits, and live off that? Or are morals missing? When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.
GLAD NOT TO BE A MEMBER OF THE "ENTITLED TO " UNDER CLASS0
