They work for me and are the only thing that stops the symptoms once they've started.

Antihistamines plus something like beconase. And take it properly. Most people don't take nasal sprays properly. If you can taste it going down the back of your throat a few seconds after squirting, you've done it wrong.

Which then prompts the question - how do you take it properly, and what are you doing wrong if you can taste it?

    How does it work?
If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.

If you need Beconase because of Hay Fever then you may as well ask the chemist for Flixonase which can be more effective for most people.

You could also try the low-tech dab of vaseline inside each nostril - it supposedly helps catch pollen on the way in, and seems moderately effective from personal tests. And at a couple of quid for a blooming great pot of the stuff...

Indeed. I can't really elaborate without falling foul of MSE's no medical advice rule. But google it, or ask a pharmacist/GP. It's all about holding your head at the right angle and keeping it still for 30 seconds after squirting, so as not to lose it all down the back of your throat.

There's def. something in the air today, I don't really get hay fever but I do usually have a few days a year when I really react to something, so it must be one specific plant that sets me off. Today is one of those days. I've had to go buy some anti-hystemine lunch time. I really feel for people who suffer with it a lot.
