Suitably gentle hugs Poohbear, take it easy
We have lots of overnight visitors next weekend so I need to join you Juliejim.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
carpet's down. Unfortunately the newly hung new door has had to come off because it won't skim the carpet so that's another job for the joiner. I'm now cleaning the dining room; DS has helped, he's put the table back together, helped me clean the window, he fitted the blind rail and he's screwed in the sm,oke detector holder and fitted that. At least a hundred books removed from our bedroom/bathroom
Top hall tidied, bookcases returned to order, airing cupboard contents sorted and put back (after three months in the hall).
One black bag filled, and a pile for charity shop. 2 books in the pile.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Well done hex
and Valli's DS
Chair, corner shelf, mirrors, shoe rack and picture washed down. Dressing table washed and polished. Cleaning cloths on line. One lot of bedding now in the machine. Utility sink cleaned with soda crystals and then vinegar. Kindling box and log baskets refilled with floorboards.
I'm wondering whether I should colour wash the shoe rack (untreated pine) to match the floorboards...
Currently watching the birds busily chucking the bark chips out of my flowerbeds and onto the grass and patio. Hopefully they're eating the caterpillars as I found one on a clematis earlier.
Next job is to clean what I grandly call my lingerie chest... It's a tall DVD storage unit with narrow drawers that I keep my underwear in
It's so tempting not to put everything back in the bedroom as it's really nice with nothing much in it! But I don't think I can find homes for it elsewhere.0 -
Gosh you ladies all do even more cleaning at the weekend than during the week, even with the lists. Perhaps basic laziness is where I am going wrong.
Seem to have kicked off the weekend/Easter holidays with bad moods and bad atmosphere all round, which is a shame. At times like this I remind myself that learning to rub along with other people is a valuable life lesson for my boys, while part of me would dearly like to live the life of a single mother - in some respects much simpler.Motto for 2013: GET MORE DONE! I have managed to write some letters. A much needed job but the sort of thing I avoid until I have nothing else to do
