Only you know what you need to back up I'm afraid. But presumably all your documents, pics, music, Favorites etc.
Eveything will be lost, including any aftermarket programs, which will have to be reinstalled-so make sure you have the licence keys if required. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Just a quick question regarding this, do you think my internet explorer favourites have a chance of being infected?
I was going to back them up and transfer to mem stick and add back when i re-install win XP but now im not so sure....0 -
they are just links, so can't get infected. post a hijackthis log and specifics of the problems you are encountering, and/or follow the speedup sticky thread.!!

i tried teh whole hijack this route it works then eventually system goes slow again. I just want to re-install now, been putting it off for years!
What about saving my bookmarks to a website like https://www.xmarks.com
are they any good?0 -
ie, file, export point it to a an external disk or flash drive is easier.
The only reason it goes slow is by clogging it up again with bloated software, which can happen whether you reinstall or tidy up.!!
