I selected an automatic date option from a selection the system prompted, I selected the date before PC TOOLS was installed, a day before or so.
I don't know why it didn't work, I just ended up deleting PC Tools even though I couldn't get anything recovered, didn't want it to cause further damage! I guess system recovery does not restore HISTORY.

The help agents gave me an email to forward screenshots to so they could resolve and recover my data but surprise surprise the emails did not send! The addresses were not valid, any company that is hard to reach/contact is DODGY!

Your browser history is not among the things held by restore points - they're primarily for critical system file and registry backups.

Are you sure you weren't had by a dodgy download masquerading as a PC Tools util? Or CCleaner, perhaps?
