I've added £54.28 to my total in my sig. That's with @ £46 for dog food and treats, £2.99 salmon from Ald1, £3.50 in Mr M. and £2 for a bag of chips to share between DH, DD and me. Today was an nsd.
I've got just over £13 to last till the 1st of May. Will only need milk before then.

Well I have been a good girl, and lived out of my cupboards all week. Finally braved Tesco's with my list and meal plan and came out spending £38.24 I haven't added it to my signature yet but know I am within budget :j I will not be spending anything now until Tuesday at least.

We have 2 new additions joining our family, so for May I will be adding £30 to the budget to cover food and cat litter. I like a challenge so I will see how I do feeding 4 hungry mouths and coping with an extra day in the month.

I first got a Kenwood Chef in the 1970s. I only had 3 children then but that mixer paid for itself when I had 6 children plus students to feed. I had lots of attachments for it - they all got left behind when I moved and failed to empty that cupboard! It was a cupboard built behind the kitchen door - I had been remarried for 3 months and was desperate to move in with Mr F. I was only moving down the road! Married my neighbour.

It must have been heartbreaking to leave Ken Wood behind but at least you have Mr F :D;)

Did you ever get it replaced? It would be like losing a limb after using it frequently for so long. :(

jumblejack i have peppers to roast, lentils and cumin seeds in stock what else do i need for that lovely looking soup. onions, garlic, herbs & stock perhaps? please

Its just a concoction that my fridge n larder inspired.

I just dry fried a couple of teaspoons of cumin seeds till they jumped around. Then I added a spot of oil and fried up an onion.
The roasted peppers were skinned and deseeded (reserve the generous amount of juice they release whilst you prepare them and add it to the stock!).
I popped these in the pan along with my lentils then added stock (mine was saved from previous meals).

    Simmer, season and blend.

    :)

I love soups as you couldn't go wrong even if you tried. :D
If you have garlic/fresh herbs then add em by all means!!!!

Oh - I took the Kenwood - it was on it's last legs though - it was all the attachments that were left behind. I also left my cake decorating turntable plus whatever else was in that big cupboard.

I've not been near the shops this week until today, when I spent £3 in Mr T's on milk and some clementines, only took a basket so I wouldn't be tempted to buy anything extra.

Ooh I've got utensil envy now! I'm meeting a friend at a factory outlets place tomorrow and they have a Denby outlet and a Le Creuset outlet. I'm so excited. I definitely want another pair of the Le Creuset mitts with the magnets in them - I hang one up and magnetically attach the other so I can grab it quickly. They have gone very thin and the hot oven of my range makes cast iron pans too hot really. DH uses one inside the other - I spent ages looking for the second one the first time he left them like that. I like the fact that they have worn out rather than simply been replaced. Very MSE:money:

Sorry to be MIA. It has been a really strange time the last week or so. But after much to-ing and fro-ing and several interviews and discussions my DH has been offered a job... in Abu Dhabi. So sometime in August we will be emigrating :j. So As from next month I will be trying to rein my spending in as much as possible to save for passports and such.

I have busted the budget this month so I am going for damage limitation and spend as little as I possibly can for the next 3 days. There is a couple of things I will need before the end of the weekend but I am hoping to keep it under a tenner.
