I am currently with NTL FREEDOM and have decided, after much thought, to move to sky. Last Friday I contacted ntl and requested MAC code and today received an email stating:
What follows is a % symbol one letter and % symbol! I thought a MAC code consisted of many numbers or is this right? Surely not?!
We have received a request to provide you with a Migration Authority Code (MAC).
This request has been processed and your MAC is as follows:
What follows is a % symbol one letter and % symbol! I thought a MAC code consisted of many numbers or is this right? Surely not?!

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I sent ntl freedom an email saying that I thought they had made a mistake and asked for them to send me the correct MAC code.
Just received an email from ntl freedom:
'Dear Customer,
Thanks for your email. I do apologise for the incorrect MAC Code.'
The mac code I had received was %M% so you can see why I thought it was wrong.
I now have a list of numbers and letters - this is more like it, and thank goodness they did not take long to reply to my email.0
