With the cost of medicals, decision makers, paperwork, staff and the endless appeals when wrong decisions have been made etc etc I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't actually save any money. There has been so much media hype about people who have received benefits for years without review that the knee-jerk reaction has been to ensure that everyone is subject to regular checks. I don't know how much this will cost versus money saved...
Of course we'll get politicians on telly proudly proclaiming they've saved x amount of money by taking people off these benefits but they'll not tell us how much it's cost to do so.

The Goverment will try to stop the appeals process for PIP, to make it harder to put people of appealing. It is disgusting. Genuine disabled people will suffer and lose out on crucial support. PIP is a utter mess and I cannot see anything positive about the change. With the cost of medicals, decision makers, paperwork, staff and the endless appeals when wrong decisions have been made etc etc I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't actually save any money.
