Looking for help advice:
I am currently a Vodafone pay as you customer and have been for years now. My needs have changed and I am looking to go to pay monthly with Vodafone. I am quite happy with my handset and do not want a new one.
What I am after is around 200 minutes per month, any-time/any-network and a minimal number of texts 50-100/month.
I want to keep my number, I don't want to sign up for cash-back deals.
Is Vodafone customer services my best bet or are they likely to just try and get me to sign up to a deal with a new handset?
Anybody got any experience of this or similar?
Thanks in advance.

can`t see what the problem is with regards to taking a pay as you go number onto a contract, should be no problem what so ever, just advise them this is what you wish to do at point of sale and should be able to be done with the minimum of fuss, hope this info helps0 -

To be honest I have no desire to spend several hundred pounds or fiddle about with some silly cash back deal just so I can have a phone with a hundred features I will never use.
I have a phone that has bluetooth, internet access and I can make calls and send texts which is everything I want from a phone (it also does MP3, radio and lots of other things I never use, it has a camera that now that the novelty has worn off I hardly ever use and it also has the ability to take very low quality video footage, another feature I am not particularly interested in).
I have a decent camera, video camera, MP3 player and DBA radio, I don't need my phone to try and replace these.
I appreciate what you are saying, and I guess as a customer I am not that appealing to somebody trying to sell a contract with bells and whistles, but I know what I want."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Could be worth finding a package that suits you, and then phoning Vodafone and seeing if you can bargain with them for a discount on the grounds that you don't want a new phone.0

Hi Clive Woody
I work for Vodafone and may be able to help.
We do offer SIM only deals, whereby instead if having a new phone, you will recieve discounted line rental instead, either that, or the cost of the line rental will be reduced (as there is no need cover the cost of supplying a phone).
It is possible to transfer your number from Pay As You Go, to a monthly contract, and as it is all done in house, there are no delays etc.
You you want more information, it can be found here, or you can call our new connections team direct on 08080 178178.
Hope this helps0
