    Hi santer, as I only use chrome and IE, it,s going to be down to find the file. I was going to reset IE, but it stated, only reset if browser unusable..As everything is usable, and the only sign of it is in S&D, is it doing any harm, it,s showing as adware.If it,s not malicious, I will try tomorrow to locate the file, but according to the helpful links you have given me, it,s going to be a long task, if not impossible, it may just be a file remnant, as I removed it from add/remove, it was there to start with, perhaps I interupted the removal???it,s all ifs.;;
    will give it another go manana. thanks for everything, will keep you posted:beer:

    Just need to find how to update openoffice, psi cannot do it. openoffice updates also fails to do it, and re-loading it still leaves it needing updating, unless psi is wrong, according to spec, last update was nov 2011.

    " You may have noticed that the update checking feature is broken. "

    http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48386

    " This problem will not be fixed until at least Apache OpenOffice 3.4 to be released in a while. Until then, there is no other choice than to switch off the feature in Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Online Update, then untick the first option (Check for updates automatically). Note that under Mac, Tools entry is Preferences. "

    " For what it's worth, LibreOffice may have fixed this issue (on their side for their part) in version 3.5: "

    Thanks for the update on Babylon. If a programme is so reluctant to be removed, then maybe it isn't up to much good

    Question, why are you still using Openoffice when the entire development team left with the code and started Libreoffice ?.

    The 2 guys still struggling to patch/update Ooo had to resort to encouraging users to install such carp as Babylon search bar as a way to generate cash to try to pay a programer or two to join their sinking ship.

    For future reference, when running sypybot you should right click the icon and "Run as administrator"

    hi, never heard of libreoffice, obviously bypassed me as I don,t use it much. Is Libre freeware, and would I be better off changing?

    Yes it's free.

    As patman99 suggested, OOffice had problems, there was a falling out, people left and set up Libre.

    Libre is alive and growing whilst OOffice could be said to be stagnating.

    Move along, nothing to see.
