sorry for long post and excuse any miss spellings my "L" button is a wee bit jammed.
I need some help in getting out of a talktalk contract, I have had nothing but trouble with them and have spent more time on the phone talking to them in the last 6 months than i have talking to my dad (and me and my dad talk alot!)
1st problem was the first day i got it when my router kept dropping out and only got the internet when i was on the phone so used to have the phone off the hook in order for the internet to work, after many many phone calls and a good few weeks later it finally was working perfectly, then everything was hunky dorey for a while.
2nd problem my router wouldn't work after my electric ran out, or I turnt the box off it just wouldn't come on for hours and hours, eventually it just stopped turning on all together, so again phone call after phone call, then i asked to leave and MAGICALLY I was picked for a free engineer to come round  SHOCK HORROR!?
(still waiting to see my bill cos i feel they will probs still try sneaking the charge in there)
my engineer was round here YESTERDAY, and the router is doing the same thing my first router was doing, they are telling me to do all this crap when i'm trying to tell them i have been through this alll before and it wasn't this that or the other, but no they won't listen to me, according to their thingmabob my internet has dropped out 27 times today -_-
and now he is trying to get me to have a engineer come round and charge me £50!!!
I HAD A ENGINEER HERE YESTERDAY!! :wall:
I find it absolutely ridiculous that I am spending £35 a month on internet that is not working, and they want to charge me £136 to cancel my contract!
!!!!!!s are con artists!
is there anyway to get out of this contract and go for a internet supplier that will, you know, give me internet??

Read that PDF for advice on what you can do to fault-find your connection.
If the internet only worked with the phone being used then this points to a line fault - an HR (high resistance) fault whereby using the phone passes a higher current through the wires and so "fixes" the fault for a short time. (ADSL uses a low current - much lower than a phone call - so this allows an HR fault to reoccur). Such a fault would normally appear as noise when doing a quiet line test. (See the PDF).0
