Are we talking Ipads here, something of similar value or something cheap?0 -
No chance of jumping on a jet over to KAF/BAG/ or KBL for the day? The norwegian BX (supremes?) should sell them tax free, the bigger american BX's, notably at Bagram. I got my suunto for buttons up in kbl.
Very surprised Apple are refusing to ship,I bought mobiles, digital cameras (expensive nikon!), video cameras, North face gear the lot when I was away (6 months in BAS and 8 months between KAF/BSN). Seems silly if Amazon have turned off the vat free route in the sandpit. used to be the best thing, apart from thai and beer up in KBL. Although I believe mccrystal has sh*t on that too.
Amazon SHOULD accept the BFPO address, you then email after receipt and they refund the VAT to the card. Just make sure its below the weight limit for the movers.0 -
Its been a few days since you posted - did you make a decision? Did amazon ship to you? or did you choose someone else?

My OH is out there without one, too, but I'd be happy to get one if it comes back to me eventually, so also keen to find out what happened!Maybe we should set up a club for those poor deprived non-ipad owners!

I ended up buying one from the US BX - worked out about £80 cheaper than the UK, so roughly about the same as getting tax back.
I looked into several companies, some wouldn't post at all, some said i had to claim the tax back myself, some wanted to charge £18 postage.
However, i do know a couple of guys who have ordered from Amazon and by the time Amazon realised the Ipads had been mailed!0 -
Not good news. I am off on HERRICK and was hoping to do the same regarding VAT free pressies.
Going to Apple directly may help as we also get a discount for being forces. They may know how to do it without VAT?
We have just brought a lap top from amazon for a college with no problem. Spent about £700 on a laptop and external hard drive...posted to BFPO and tax claimed back.
