Definitely mis-sold vodafone contract - possible proof, what can I do?

Hi all,

I bought a sim only 12 month deal from vodafone. 600 mins and 500 mb data. I was told I could tether for no additional cost and would get 3 months unlimited data due to a vodafone data drive initiative.

After 3 weeks into the contract I get a text saying I am almost at my limit for data use. Surprised, I contact customer services and am told that there is is no vodafone data drive for sim only customers and tethering is an additional cost.

Annoyed, I went to the vodafone website and started chatting to a sales rep. I asked for a similar 12 month sim only deal, i asked about tethering and the vodafone data drive - I was told both are available free of charge.

I have taken screenshots of this conversation. But do not know what I should do. I am not happy. Also, I do not know how many others this may happen to.

Any help?

How does the second conversation mean you have
    'possible proof' about your contract.

They are completely unrelated. Unless you got what
what you were offered in writing then it never happened.

It doesn't prove what the OP was told originally but it it certainly pushes matter in their favour.

I would write to them setting out what you were told when buying the contract and enclosing the screen shots showing that contracts are still being sold/advertised on this basis and ask them to honour what you were originally told.

How much extra would it be for tethering & unlimited date for 3m? If it's not too much they may just agree to honour the contract to save the hassle.

  • Hi

Ive had terrible customer service in the past week with Vodafone but thats another story ...

Regarding this matter, they have agreed to honour the original deal. Very happy! I feel I could possibly have asked for something extra for all this trouble Ive been through but didnt want to push my luck.

    Thanks for your help.
