Hi,
1) What is the difference between BT OpenZone & BT Fon?
2) As a BT Broadband (Option 3) customer, am I entitled to use their free WiFi hotspots?
Regards,

OpenZone are usually commercial quality hotspots. Fon are an extra SSID on (mostly) BT home routers although there are also some Fonera router generated hotspots (I have one).
I'm not a BT customer but sfaik you should be able to access either free.0 -
BTopenzone are usualy comercial hotspots, but some are also free hotspots to BT customers, you should be able to access the non comercial ones free of charge, the comercial ones will require a log in+payment.
As for FON, i bought a hotspot/router as a non Bt customer, Fon+smartphone+Voip account with a UK 01 number+ going abroad = the ability to call anyone in the UK while conected to wifi ( ie Fon) at less than UK standard prices as i get 240 minutes of UK 01/02 numbers with my ISPs voip service means that i can use my mobile abroad for calls for free ( as long as there is a wifi conection)
so far its worked a treat in France, Spain, and HollandFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Openzone is free to BT customers too. I got some credit for it with my FON router.
I just tried that new fangled google thing and it came up with...
