Will TalkTalk be faster (LLU)?

I'm in a rural Scottish exchange. It's listed as Market 1 but according to SamKnows.com TalkTalk LLU was started end of last year. When I go to TalkTalk's website it says estimated speed of 9.9Meg - I know to take this with a large grain of salt... however at the moment we're getting about 6M and it noticably slows down on weekends. This is listed as a known issue in the exchange info on Plusnet's page and it says it will be fixed in Feb 2013.

I'm aware of the TalkTalk customer service issues but that's not a big problem for me, but will an LLU be faster than BT's ADSL service? Thanks for any help you can give!

Slowing down at the weekends is nothing to do with your connections speed which should be constant rather data throttling due to the BT network being overloaded.
If you look up your router here:-

You can look at your line statistics, note the downstream attenuation. Then this table will give you an indication of what you should get.

Sorry, I'm not following, I didn't say the two were linked. It's only in the last month we've noticed a severe slowing down at weekends, and it's a confirmed issue with the equipment at the exchange. However I assume this wouldn't happen on an LLU from what I understand? Also the speed we get right now is about 6M, TalkTalk says it would be approx 9.9 with them, what I want to know is how accurate that normally is - is switching to the LLU a better option?

Post your router line statistics, and we can tell you if TTs estimate is accurate.

Thanks, I found some info on a website recommended in another thread here, put in my router statistics and it gave me a higher estimate than TalkTalk gave so I've gone ahead and ordered it. Fingers crossed now!
