Daily Thread Saturday 24th March 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

morning all!
looks like its upto me to start us off again:)
Bit foggy here so far but promises to be a nice weekend. DH is at work until lunchtime and I've got the weekend off:j
Got to collect DS from a friends later the DH and I are off shopping - I need some new trainers as mine have holes now although I still use them for gardening and dog walking. I also need a suitable top to wear to Sils funeral which is on Friday.
I need to do a bit of housework and got the bed to change plus some ironing to get through too.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning Tappers & all who cross & follow.
TFI the weekend & it's sunny, so far today I've cooked breakfast for hubby, made toast for me, made copious cups of tea, fed the fish, fed Herman (the friendship cake starter), DW & WM are both on, I have brisket in the SC & a kilo of mince with lentils & veg bubbling in another pan, Jerk chicken, cajun chicken in the freezer & a gammon sliced & ready to freeze.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Taplady & all to follow.
Misty here too but its going to be lovely later :T
Have no real plans today and not going to make any, just going to potter around and see what gets done.
Washing machine will be on most of the day now and hope to get a lot of washing on the line. May pop out to a garden nursery later - want to set up a herb garden, used to have one but the garden got moved around and lost it. Saw a lovely preplanted tub in a flower shop the other day but the price
Not sure what is for dinner, the menu plan was left blank as was meant to be seeing friends which has been postponed. The freezers are full so don't think I will have a problem
Have a brilliant day whatever you are doing.x
Wow Hester - you have made me feel lazy/tired :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone
Loving the fog early this morning, took Luna for a fab walk over local fields. Let her off the lead again and she walked so well. Excellent start to the morning.
Now having poached eggs on wholemeal toast so feeling life is very good right at the moment
Just planning on a pottering day today, need to get my dad a birthday card as he's 65 tomorrow. We've clubbed together to buy him a Wii :rotfl: heading off to soft play this afternoon for a natter with friends whilst the kids play.
Not sure what's for tea, pizza for the kids, fancy Cajun for me and H.
Loulou - happy birthday to your DS xx hope he has a great day.
Hester - and here's me thinking I was productive yesterday because I sowed a couple of troughs of seeds :rotfl:
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning All
Already finished ALL the ironing and it feels good! Stripped my bed, that is washed and is on the line already. Emptied the DW from last night and cleaned the downstairs bathroom.
Loads to do today, the weather is a little overcast at the moment but apparently the sun is going to shine later.
Enjoy your weekends, take care. XX0 -

thanks for ds' birthday wishes
managed our day out yesterday. ds was fine in the morning and most of the day. it wasnt until we were getting home he started shivering and his temp had shot up again. he was ok after calpol but we mentioned about going to bed about 7 and he was off up the stairs :rotfl: slept like a log all night til just after 8 this morning.
opened his presents and then all of a sudden started crying that his ear hurt and was hot again. given him some medicine and he seems to have perked up again but will take him to the walk in clinic if he needs it. he is just playing with his new toys and then we're off to hubbys nans for more presents. and then his party later on.
i've had twp days of no sickness but it appears to be back today  trying to just get through it.
hope everyone is well. hugs if needed"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -

The weather is beautiful, so plan to get into the garden this afternoon and get some seeds planted, I have been more sensible this year and only bought what we actually will eat - last year wasn,t so good and lost alot of veg - fingers crossed for this season, so far I have basil, corriander, flat leaved parsley, chilli,s, bell peppers, butternut squash, various tomatoes, spinich and will get potatoes, onions and carrotts in soon.
