Truly tiny doorway & buying a sofa.

I have two Nabru sofas (three years in). They have been pretty good, but the foam cushion filling isn't that great and will need replacing soon. They sell pieces separately though, so easy to update/repair/change covers etc. They are very simple to put together, so you won't need the fitting service they offer.
They are incredibly cheap though, so I don't resent the wear and tear as much!0 -
Remove a window pane. It is very easy to do, and trivial to replace back especially if they are UPVC. Some of these will make it easier to lift the window out:

I've got a three seater Ikea Ektorp sofa and I think its brilliant. I live in a terrace too and as it comes flat packed it made getting it in the house a lot easier, it is quite long though which you need to bear in mind. As for how durable it is mine is great, I've had it for a about a year now with no problems and it gets daily use from 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog, plus it is very comfy. If you look at the construction materials list includes solid pine and from putting it together I'd say the majority of the frame is solid wood.

We got a recliner sofa from Harveys and it came in 6 pieces! There were three seat pieces, then three backs, and the delivery guys assembled it. Same thing with the armchair - the back was separate to the seat.
It was from this range:

Might be worth asking around in furniture shops if they have any ranges that come in pieces.
They left the assembly instructions with us so when I redecorate the lounge I plan to take the furniture apart again to remove it temporarily.0 -
Thanks for all the replies. Think we have decided upon a Nabru sofa, unless we come across anything in the mean time that will fit & that we can afford (so many are way out of our budget, and why so much leather & faux leather - I hate leather furniture)! Doesn't help that I've just been diagnosed with sciatica too!
PS to all the posters who said remove a window - getting furniture in our house is easy the window opens fully - it's a 26" internal doorway that is the problem that can't be altered!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Hi
Did you get a Nabru sofa in the end? Just wondering what you think of it if you did?
Thanks0
