Hi,
Parked in liverpool today and had to stradle two of the bay as there was a long wheelbase transit parked in the next bay which was over the lines and my car is a very large american suv and doesn't fit in the bays properly anyway.
Was around 8" over the lines and came back to the car after leaving it for around 30 mins to a parking charge from UKPC - I've tried to add an image of the ticket but the forum rules won't let me
I take it from other posts on to just file it for reference and then ignore everything that comes through from the company is that correct?
Phil

Yup ignore it! Is it deffo UKPC didnt know anywhere they operated in Liverpool?
PM me the location if you could!;)0 -
Seconded.
Ignore them and have a look at the top thread for examples of the letters you can look forward to shredding, and a Watchdog clip about this scam as well. Watch that asap.
The thread you want to read is 'PPC letters & threats' and is at the top of the forum index view which is just one click away. See my signature for where to click.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Don't shred the letters! They are useful evidence for when you sue them for the unlawful harassment that will usually follow.0

I presume that there were no other bays to park in, but I do see the problem with such a large vehicle. I'm only jealous.
Did the Transit van get a ticket too? Or did they just go for the potentially more lucrative target?
I wonder what the response would be if you actually (and nicely, of course) asked the PPC's attendant (the ticket was on the vehicle, not in the post) how you ought to park, so as not to contravene the T&Cs.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Maybe the transit belonged to the PPC.0

The thought did cross my mind, but I didn't want to give them ideas. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Parked in staples car park bought some file paper nipped over road
To atm when i came back Ticket saying i had parked illegally and had to pay £ 70 !
Was completly bemused then angry when i saw a man get out of his car with a camera ..........he waited for me to go then stung:o
When i looked there are 2 sighns both more than 6 ft of the ground
I am just over 5 ft would never have been able to see them
I photographed the man and his car ! Was furious i will NOT pay
Will go to court first ......actually will probably drop dead first !
Mad as hell about being photographed :A:A
Thanks for reading this ........feel better already0 -
Don't pay then. Only way you will end up in court is if you sue them. Who the HELL do they think they are?0
-
Ignore them, but use one of the sheets of paper you bought to send them a Letter Before Action. Revenge (unlike porridge) is a dish best eaten cold.
Collect the series of ever-increasingly threatening letters they will probably continue to send you.
Then use these to as evidence to sue them - and Staples, who they are acting on behalf of - for harassment. With luck, Staples will reconsider using them in their car parks.
PS. Open question: Oughtn't you need to send an LBA to the car park owner, as well? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Yes, the LBA should go to the car park owner too. As you say they are usually the easier to deal with as, unlike the PPC, they may value their reputation.0
