I finally have my refund :j

I have no doubt whatsoever that had I not come on here and had help from Lee that I would still be waiting.

One phone call from Lee and there was suddenly a 'Refund Team' and telephone number!

I called this and the refund was done in less than 2 minutes over the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I am thankful to Lee, Vodafone seriously needs to review its Call Centre staff and training.

THE NUMBER FOR THE REFUNDS TEAM IS 08454 402 134.

It took them just a month? Well, this is possibly a record breaking speed for this shambolic Kafkian company.
I thought bank transfers were instant nowadays... For Vodafone they seem to be instant only in one direction.

    indeed, that is horrific.

Vodafone have needed to sort themselves out for a LONG time - I vowed never to go back when they insisted the only way to cancel a contract was a handwritten and posted letter.

Obtuse processes to make a customer give up, which they either do, or they never come back..

    Hi Csndra,

Thanks for updating your thread to confirm that you've now received your refund.

Although this took longer than anticipated please be assured that the difficulties experienced will be fed back.

    Hi visidigi,

It's a shame to hear about your dissatisfaction here.

Whilst I don't know how long ago this happened I can confirm that we do currently accept cancellation notices via email.

    Kind regards to you both.

Vodafone do allow cancellation via the contact us section on their website, although they will not provide you with an actual email address to send the request so you have no real proof of the request if any problems should arise in the future.

I just finished with Vodafone for good, moved all my contracts over to o2. Vodafone have to be just behind three in terms of support in my experience, their network is not that great anymore either.

Glad to be back on 02 personally. :D

Now switch your payment method to DD so that they cannot do this again-don't ever allow recurring debit authorities to be set up on your card.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Why do you think it was a "recurring debit authority"?

Because it wasn't a DD and was taken from a card?
I should have said, never allow any telcoms provider to retain your card details, always use DD as the payment method.

It was just a usual payment by a debit card over a phone:

Such payment cannot just become a "recurring debit authority".
I don't know any big operators using CPA to take payments.
