How much info do you like to see on Rightmove?

Just been discussing this with an EA. They like to put minimal info on, just a few photo's and brief description so that potential buyers ring them up and the EA can then extol the virtues of the property in person. They can also suggest other properties that they think the buyer might be interested in. They don't include the address because they discourage 'drive-by's' - they want potential buyers to actually view the property as buyers maybe more 'flexible' than they realise.
This conversation was not a meeting of minds as personally I like to see
I don't want to waste either my time or that of the vendors by booking viewings on unsuitable properties.
I would be interested to know your thoughts though, do these estate agent tactics actually work?
I am seriously considering using an online EA I have been unimpressed by the local agents I have come in contact with when undertaking viewings or just asking for more info about a property (two this week failed to get back to me with additional info)
Update
Got letter from EA this morning extolling the virtues of their unique approach to selling which includes an audio tour with music and voiceover - 'a professional commercial' of the property. In my experience these 'tours' are in small pop up boxes which I can't see properly - but I would be very interested in your views.
This conversation was not a meeting of minds as personally I like to see
- Photo's of each room including front of house and any other outside space
- Floorplan
- Reasonable description including at the least room sizes and orination of rooms (although I probably wouldn't ask the likes of Mr Green to sell my house)
- Enough info to identify on a drive by and 'satelite' and 'street view' so I can see the surrounding properties and size of garden

It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I don't know if their tatics work, however I am of a similar mindset to you.
The more pictures & information in the listing the better, as far as I am concerned.
In fact I would go as far to say sketchy info or a lack of pictures is more likely to make me ignore that property. If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me

Agree with that 100%Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -
I generally won't go to view properties with only minimal photographs, or any where room dimensions aren't included (I have certain furniture to fit in certain rooms!)... if there's not enough information then I assume that persuing further would be a waste of time and the property goes in the 'binned' pile for me, I certainly wouldn't be chasing EAs for more details! You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

100% agree with what's already been said. We've been looking at houses lately and if there's a house with only one picture, we dismiss it instantly.
We like to see plenty of pictures, in particular or the front of the house, main rooms (living room, bathroom, kitchen, at least one bedroom) and the garden. A floor plan is a nice touch that helps but room measurements will do so that we can compare it to where we are now.
Put it this way...if a property only has one picture it would have to be some knock out property for me to enquire further.0 -
I agree to more information is preferred.
I don't see why agents withhold exact addresses now if there ever was a point to doing so. Using Google streetview, which Rightmove links to, I can find the house anyway. I often like to visit the street to get a 'feel' for it before requesting a viewing.0 -
Agree with OP.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I definitely like to see a floorplan with dimensions. Get very frustrated when that isn't there.
Pictures - I'd really like one of the front of house and of the back garden. (Dimensions of garden would be very useful too, but I never see that.)
Inside I'm not really bothered about the general rooms as most of what's in there will change. Bathroom & kitchen are useful though as you can see if you're able to live with what is there.0 -
Agree with OP. If there are minimal pictures, I just assume that there seller has something to hide.0

I agree with all the above, and would add that I don't like calling estate agents. They are often out of the office, and when you do speak to them they tend to just rush into 'do you want a viewing'. I don't like feeling presured.
Plus I am at work during the day! And while I will happily property surf on rightmove, I can't be making lots of calls that are clearly not work related. I tend to mark places I like, then come back to them in the evening.
Although.. there is a limit on the words. It doesn't need to be an essay either.
Floor plans are an absolute must for me.0 -
I skipped over quite a few houses because there either weren't photos or room sizes. I'll not waste my time ringing agents to get basic details.0
