How much info do you like to see on Rightmove?

Many estate agents in my area now use 0844 phone numbers - rip off for me and making more profit for them. Why should I put myself out in what is essentially a buyer's market?
Actually, before you berate the agent, this is Rightmoves doing, not the agent. They don't earn a penny out of the 0844 number, Rightmove however, do earn quite a large sum out of it.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -

I like to see lots of photos but not ones that are duplicated over and over. You see something that has 20 photos but when you look through them, there are 4 of the kitchen all the same. Then maybe three of the lounge from a very slightly different angle, so slight they all look the same. That really irritates me.0

I want enough photos to get a feel for the property - enough to be indicative but not so many that I'm falling asleep before the slide show finishes.
I want a list of all the rooms. I would like to know how big the rooms are - not saying cat-swinging is a hobby at the moment but I want to keep my options open. It would be nice to have a floorplan that shows how the rooms link together.
The words should be concise. Tell you briefly about the place without putting you to sleep, or being so obviously sales-speak that you don't know anything about the property.
I think the EA has taken a "Marketing 101" class. Indeed, he can do a better sales job if he gets to speak to the customer. But unfortunately in this day and age, and particularly when it comes to property purchases, people don't want to be subject to the hard sell. Most folks I think would prefer to miss out on their ideal property than feel like the EA has conned them into buying it.0 -
I discount anything without a floorplan as I struggle to imagine the layout from the right up.
I also like photos of front, back and main living areas.
I dislike photos of "features" such as a "Bathroom tap".
Finally, I do my searching in the evening and am unable to make personal calls during work hours so wouldn't contact an agent for more info - that house would go onto my discard list.0 -
I like many before who have replied like to see every room if possible and especially the outside of the house and garden.
I always wonder what they are hiding by not showing pictures. It makes mevery sceptical and I will not view the property0 -
Floorplan
Front and Back of properties
Photographs of reception rooms, kitchen, bathroom and at least one bedroom
Dimensions of rooms.
And if leasehold, details of lease.
If a flat, which floor it is on.
The flat our son has just bought had pictures of all five rooms, the front of the property and details of room sizes. The listing mentioned it was the top flat of three storeys. No floorplan (but we all happened to know what these flats were like anyway) and no details of the lease, however we were given this information when we asked.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Exactly - If I view/purchase a property I want it to be because it meets my criteria, not because the EA is pressuring me to look at it. I hate the 'hard sell', and you lay yourself open to that if you ring an agent to find out more info.
A couple of you have mentioned this, initially I had simply thought it was the EA being lazy or EA tactics (as above), but the perception that there is something being hidden is also very relevant.I always wonder what they are hiding by not showing pictures. It makes me very sceptical and I will not view the propertyIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

As we are looking to buy soon I have been looking at Rightmove daily for three months.
I have managed to work out the address of every interesting property and done a few drive-bys. Some have the address on the listings, some don't.
I need floor-plans as I like looking at the locaction of doors and windows. I also need the total floor areas and orientation of the garden.
I need pictures of garden, bathroom, kitchen, living room, front elevation. I love the google Street View link. I like the Agents who put a paragraph from the previous owners about how much they have loved living there, although I take these with a pinch of salt!
I detest pictures with cats in them, one picture had an elderly couple anxiously looking in the window whilst the photo was being taken. I can do without 'artistic' pictures of, for example
'bowl of fruit' or a 'tile' in the beige bathroom.
ETA I love the sorting feature on Zoopla of most recent/most popular/most reduced etc.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I agree with most above - in this case "less is more" is wrong, more is more: pics (front, internal, back, garden), floorplan, rooms sizes decription, location, map, EPC0
