Zen are expensive, Eclipse I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. How about one of the Entanet resellers e.g. UKFSN (https://www.ukfsn.org) . Have a look at http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk for some opinions, UKFSN come under the Entanet forum by the way.

Nobody has mentioned PRIMUS telecoms. Based in Scotland, they are a world-wide company (6th largest I believe) with Freephone Support!. I have been with them since last June, not one complaint. 1Gb speed (unlimited), free evening and week-end phone calls. free connectin & modem and it works out at around £10 per month.
