If they are still mostly in good working order with chargers etc it may be worth contacting InKind Direct to see if they could pass them on to a charity.
Or is there a Children's Scrapstore in your area? They might take them if they are past their best for use as playphones etc, but might want you to take batteries out first.
Of if you have a local Voluntary Services Council they may advertise them in any newsletter they have.
Or even ask your local council if they know of any recycling charities which could make use of them.
If none of these are any use, post back and I'll make some not specifically charity suggestions - anything to keep them out of landfill. Does partly depend on age, condition etc, whether they are tied to a network or whether any old SIM could be put into them etc.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Found another possibility: Swapxchange UK. Seems to be a place you could post them for re-use. Freecycle is getting a lot of interest on the England Board - you can find UK groups even though main site is US-based.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I'm sure the Body shop collect them to pass them onto a charity sho gives them to women at risk from domestic violence, the phones will be adapted so they can be used like a 'panic button' with a direct call to the police.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

hi
I work for a small charity based in Glasgow - the Child & Family Trust. We fund specialist nurses for projects to help children in Scotland who have suffered from some form of trauma in their lives. Projects include self harm support, support for children whose parents have severe mental health problems and children with a developmental co-ordination disorder/dyspraxia. We are currently raising funds for a new project for an Eating Disorders Liaison Nurse in Fife.
We would be most grateful for any mobile phones, used inkjet or toner cartridges and could arrange postage at no cost to you. If you can help please contact us.

Welcome to the boards! Hope you get a good response to this. May be worth talking to your local paper to see if they will do a feature on your work at some point, or just put a paragraph in at regular intervals. Our local papers have that kind of thing down the outsides of several pages.
All the best.

Our Scout Group, the 4th Ruislip collect old mobile phones for recycling through our National Scoutappeal scheme.
We will readily accept or collect any mobile phones around the Ruislip/Eastcote/Pinner areas of West London.
The money raised goes towards our headquarters upkeep and new equipment for Scouts, Cubs & Beavers 6year old upwards.
Also in this scheme we recycle toner cartridges and printer cartridges (Not Epson printer cartridges though)
We would be most grateful if you can send them, deliver them or arrange collection.
