    Ive just re-added this
    " == Controversies ==

Members of the British Parking Asociation have often had their actions featured on the BBC consumer affairs Programme, Watchdog, as detailed on the [http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/2010/10/parking_tickets.html BBC link here], with advice from a legal expert. as well as several other consumer help websites, such as the money saving expert forums, Pepipoo and others. Private parking companies do not have the authority to issue fines or penalties.

" slightly editied, as i received an e-mail about the above being Biased and uninformative, edit, its just been removed again for this reason, time to give up.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

Yep it's been removed, but it's given me a few ideas on this from somebody on Wikipedia
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Most people doing a Google search will probably enter "parking ticket" or "parking fine" when they first try to find guidance, so presumably the same with Wiki.
They will not be familiar with terms such as BPA or PPC, I know I certanly wasn`t and would never have used such acronyms as a search term.
Anyone in the stressful situation of having a "fine" will include that word in their desperate first exploration, not PPC.

It wasn't an acronym the wiki article , so give some credit I know that ppc is not really well known outside of a few forums.

    I see this was added:D

    "Parking on private land
The association also set up the Approved Operator Scheme (AOS) in 2007 in response to concerns about the management of car parking on private land, an area of the parking industry in the United Kingdom which is currently unlegislated. Members of the scheme are required to comply with the BPA’s Code of Practice (CoP). However, this code is as much use as a chocolate fireguard as the BPA do little about their members when complaints are received about them."
"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Without wishing to be seen to be doing the BPA's job for them but some of the comments are blatantly biased and would never pass the Wikipedia test. At least one regular editor, Happysailor, has got stuck in and is holding their feet to the fire in terms of their editing. As far as I can see the BPA have been told that editting out comments that reduce article bias is construed as vandalism. lets see how this goes. The game ain't over yet by a long chalk.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

They seem to think they have exclusive rights to amend the wiki page, if they want a wiki page they need to accept that it's open to the world to add and edit etc

It's easy enough to create your own wikipedia style site. You just need a domain, hosting with php and mysql with sufficient bandwidth, and to install the appropriate software. I understand the one Wikipedia themselves use is open source and can be used on your own site. Presumably if you do this, you then have control over who you let edit pages, and those with a certain view point can easily be banned. I'd do it myself, but no money lol.

The controversies section has returned :D

Seems they don't like the youtube watchdog link, and it is auto removed by the anti vandal bot.

Woah what a battle it is keeping my edits on there.

The BPA seem to think they own that page and won't tolerate any dissenting views. Completely wrong of course. As somebody wrote on the "talk" page :-

It is a page about you, not your page. It is vandlism to remove any edits that move the content towards a neutral point of view
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
