It was July 2007 when the practice of pre ticked boxes was stopped, im some case you had to umtick the ppu box to opt out rather that the other way round, not sure how you would go abot finding oit if yours was the opt out method other than to write to them requesting proof....

Well my application was done in Oct 2003 so I'd hazard a guess i filled in an online application with a pre ticked PPI box! Definitely worth pursuing then if that is the case.
Should I just go straight to the FOB or shall I respond to Egg direct (probably best to go to FOB given the EGG letter said they had shut down my case!)
