BarclayCard Platinum - Will they revoke?

Hello!
I had an email from MBNA to say try applying through the pre-checker for the Fluid card. Which I did and it said wouldn't be best to apply for fluid for chances of acceptance for Barclaycard platinum was excellent, along with Cop One (Already have) and Barclaycard gold.
So, I thought hhhmm, and applied for Barclaycard platinum (6 months or more ago I was rejected by Barclays pre-checker for any Barclaycard). I go through the application, and it says after I have submit that I am not eligible for platinum 17.9% APR but they can offer me a diff platinum and to apply for that. Press okay, and voila, approved for a Platinum card with an 8k limit, registered and logged in to the online banking and yep, it's all there good to go - card should be with me in 5 working days....
I am now wondering if I am a victim of the approve now reject later? My credit isn't 100% (two settled defaults from 2008) and I have a vanquis card I am closing, cap one and virgin card and an overdraft available from Barclays so I am concerned they will take a second look and close the card? I guess I won't know til they actually do it.....but it would be nice to be able to close all my others and just have the one credit card - and lets face it a platinum is a welcome change from a vanquis! LOL:rotfl:

I don't know what the 'pre-checker' is or understand why MBNA would send you an e-mail refering you to something which offers you a rival card but instead of worrying that you MAY be a victim of the approve now reject later just relax and wait and see what happens.
As you only applied for this Barclaycard as a result of an e-mail received by MBNA, don't see why you are so worried anyway ...0 -
Am not worried I am wondering...
...not sure why the snippy comment...but thanks for the reply all the same ...0 -
Barclaycard do have a bit of a reputation at the moment for giving out cards/accounts and then changing their minds. Hopefully you'll be ok, but only time will tell.
Maybe being an existing barclays customer has helped you though.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
