I've registered my mobile with call18866 and have tried out the access number 08081707788 which works OK. Does anyone know if Orange charge for this call? The website says it should be a freephone number but it adds;
"Mobile operators may charge for calls to our 0808 and 0207 number depending on your operator and tariff plan; please check with your mobile operator for correct rates."
I don't really want to alert Orange to this access number by calling to ask if they are free. I gather they eventually bar them as they get wind of calls being routed through another cheaper provider.
Does anyone know if they the 08081707788 is actually freephone?

1- Majority of orange contracts especially their OVP contracts allow 0800 and 0870 etc numbers within the included minutes i.e. they dont charge extra unless you run out of monthly minutes.
2- For your own piece of mind you should call and ask them and dont worry about alerting them. They can find these things themselves if they need to.0 -
What tarif are you on?
My partner uses this 0808 number on orange on the 200 mins 500 text, it is free. Orange will tell you just after you have dialed the number if there is going to be a charge!

Yes it is free. They will tell you if you dial an 0800/0808 number that isn't before your call is connected.
Also worth pointing out that 1899, in my experience, is cheaper than 18866 for making calls from mobiles.0 -
Just to add its not a free number if you are an Orange PAYG customer.0

If it's an Orange tariff it is free. OVP tariffs probably are not; you'll get a warning message before the call connects in these cases.0
