So am I right in saying that they have broken a law by obtaining this address seeing as the only way they could get it is through my bank? Or at very least some sort of breach of mine or my girlfriends rights?0

Are you certain neither you nor your gf have mentioned the move on Facebook or similar (public domain). It wouldn't take much digging for them to have seen it on your profiles if it was there.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Nothing has been mentioned in any public place as I don't actually live there. That is why I am so confused. Why would they address a letter to me at an address that is not mine?0

Then I reckon that the Bank has put the 'care of' address on your credit file which means that when a debt collector does a credit search they see it. That's not illegal and I think that's what's happened.
You could write and ask the Bank to explain how this has happened when you don't even live there and it's clear the info has come from the Bank alone.
But I suspect they will tell you the above - that any addresses for customers are recorded on your credit file. It's about sharing info with other lenders within the DPA allowed system of credit references. It's to avoid fraud and bad debts where they can't trace people. I seem to recall that all possible addresses are recorded when you check your Credit File. There's an article by Martin on here about checking your credit file and you can access your records for free with Experian I think (as long as you cancel in time not to be charged from month 2).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Its on your credit files that address is in use by you, so they have searched your file and found a hit and now they will chase you at that address. I don't think you can use a a c/o address with banks etc. Best bet would be to ask on the debt wannabe forum and they will tell you.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
