Company car upto £20,500
Hi, I need some inspiration!
I have to choose a new company car within the next two weeks for ordering. My company buys the vehicles rather than lease, and I have a budget of upto £20,500 list price. Needs to be diesel.
Mileage each year around 25,0000. Mix of motorway and city driving.
Any ideas, personal experiance etc welcome!

I would be very tempted by the new big kia Optima. Worth a drive to see if the engine is up to the job but it's a good looking thing. What's the list price on a 2 litre diesel exeo or octavia? (don't touch the 1.6 it's horrid)
Edit to answer my own question you could get an octavia 140 for that kind of money, you'd need to check the spec out yourself but looks fine to me. Could get a 120ish bhp (didn't know they done these) Exeo in SE trim, can only get base trim if you want the more powerful 140 motor in that. I would imagine the 120 to be fine though so depends which you prefer. Octavia for me personally0 -
I think a Mondeo will slide under the list price rule and will give you the best space, economy and driving pleasure for that list price rule.0

Octavia a good choice get a VRS or an L&K for that money (through discounter).
or go more luxury a Superb0 -
It's a good car but at the OP's price range list will only stretch to a 1.6 diesel. The Mondeo is close if not the same size as a 5 series, seems an awful lot of car for a 115bhp engine to haul around.
Masses of space and practicality though as stated0 -
You will probably find that the Co2 emissions will become the first priority to try and limit the amount of company car tax you pay.
The BMW efficient dynamics seem to be a winner right now although not sure what that budget buys you.0 -
VW Golf Bluemotion 99g co20

Looks like the 116 efficientdynamics (99g co2, 74 mpg) only comes in 5 door which is £385 over budget. Can get a 3 door 116d SE, 118d ES or 118d Sport which are all 13% BIK.0 -
OP I assumed that your employer, in the interests of "fairness" like a lot of other company car operators, used the list price criteria, is that right? If so and the only other condition is it has to be a diesel, other issues are irrelevant as I presume they will be fueling, insuring, taxing and servicing it at their expense.0

Use THIS to work out your liability + gives all list prices
But co2 will probably be one of the main drivers0 -
If someone else is paying I'd have an Alfa Guilietta.0
