My mum loves hers (the Wind U135). The chiclet keys are a little strange, but surprisingly easy to type on.0

Mine is an MSI U135DX also.. I'm pretty happy with it.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

XP has an end of support life of April 2014, personally I wouldn't be bothered about this but it would mean you will not get security updates for new threats etc. XP will probably be more responsive than windows 7 anyway but like others have said, extra memory will make a big difference.
Main concern on a 3 year old notebook would be the battery as, like all batteries, the capacity for holding a charge will degrade over time. Batteries are typically quite expensive for these machines also. You can always test this then knock the price down accordingly.0 -
At 3 years old the battery will be on its last legs. By the time you've bought a battery you're within £40 or so of being able to walk into PC World or Currys and buy a brand new one.0

My first netbook was an Advent 4213 from early 2009..it lasted me 3 years and was quite a good netbook despite not being a great make.
But the battery really was failing - I was getting perhaps half the usage I used to. It was cheaper for me to sell it and buy a much newer netbook than it would have been getting a new battery.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I've got a 4 year old NC10.
Mousepad is worn out, half the keyboard is hit and miss, it suffered the white screen problems, it's used daily on site and full of dust.
The battery is as good as when I bought it, I bought the 6 cell version which will last most of the day if I can't charge it.
I certainly wouldn't swop it for a laptop.0
