Gal, does it work out cheaper than their latest energyon line tariff?0
-
That would depend on your annual gas usage - For example if your a fairly low user then the Guarantee one will be cheaper. If your a average, medium or high user then energyonline V2 will work out cheaper as the discount overall will be more then what you will save on taking off the igt charge. Best thing to do is E-mail powergen and ask them to compare the 2 against your usage.
Its fairly easy for them to do and anyone with half a braincell can perform it for you0 -
There is a list of suppliers and their charges here:
http://energywatch-ext.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/energywatch_ext.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3044&p_created=1101390776&p_sid=RD22cNvi&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0xODMmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT03&p_li=&p_topview=1
There must be exceptions though, as Gal pointed out you don't have to pay the fee on certain Powergen tariffs, so it is always worth checking with the provider.0 -
would not consider Powergen they charge £42 inc VAT per annum as an administration charge according to energywatch. This is exclusive to the rate too which makes comparing difficult the other suppliers include the igt charge in a revised tariff. At the minute for an igt Atlantic's new online prices look good plus no igt charge. Checked yesterday Atlantic gas only seems to be the cheapest0

Did you not read the above then?0

£42 for P/Gen and SPower and £31.50 for Npower to the quote you receive
also if you are considering splitting your gas and elec suppliers up don't consider EDF as they charge £38- £64 for single fuel gas IGT.
Worth pointing out though that for dual fuel EDF do not charge extra for IGT. I am with EDF dual fuel and do not pay :j0 -

That is very interesting to read - we're on EDF dual fuel but we DO pay IGT charge
Ours is the dual fuel online if that makes any difference.0 -

That's strange you should question that. The link earlier in this thread says that they don't charge for dual fuel. I'm sure we are not paying for it.0 -
i only meant don't consider EDF for single fuel as that would result in a charge. Dual fuel customers should not be charged according to the information a got from an energywatch report on the subject last summer. Not sure about online exemptions though i would speak to them EDF are the only supplier with a designated IGT freephone helpline so if you are a customer then speak to them0

Atlantic Energy don't charge for IGT.
They also have fairly good customer service. Unlike British Gas !!!0
