sorry no advice just disbelief that, that is all some people want out of life and aspire too to sit round drinking all the time its sad. There are so many better and healthier things she could be doing.
Unfortunately addiction really isn't that clear cut. And as the previous poster said I don't think her aspirations have every been an issue previously as she is a Dr.Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
Thank you for all these comments. An especial thank you to wolfehouse for the link to the sick doctor's trust, I have shared this with my parents and this is somethng we will likely do.
Yes, we have spoken to her directly, both to her and my BIL. They live over a hundred miles away so unfortunately can't keep popping round there and increasingly the invites are getting less.
It is a very sad situation - as many have noted she is an intelligent woman, but also a very unhappy one. Addiction isn't easy, and I am sure red devil there are better and healthier things she could be doing but at the moment the drink is not enabling her to see them. We will be there for her when she needs us, and hope that the sick doctor's trust can offer some further advice.
Thank you all.0 -
Sounds like the rest of the team have acted to get her away from the patients.
They will most likely have already got her the details of the help available, too. Which includes specialist wards for detox in hospitals. But if she's capable of telling everyone to bog off, she's not going to be taking advantage of this provision.
Can't do anymore than that.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
